The Rose And Crown, Church Street, Ludlow

Booked an over-night stay in Ludlow so browsed some reviews of restaurants in the area, this one stood out straight away for me. Tucked away in Church Street, which is just off the High Street, the pub is what I would describe as a 'proper' Pub, i.e it's not owned by some chain with the usual menu of burgers etc, but a pub with traditional looking interior and a chalk board displaying that days fayre and a good selection of drinks.

I opted for deep fried Brie, which was excellent, two generous portions, both well cooked with a tasty salad and cranberry sauce. My partner had the Lasagne, again, delicious, good portion, piping hot served with salad and garlic bread.

The night we were there (a Thursday) it was bustling with activity, as it was dominoes night! Nice atmosphere and the owners were very friendly, always nice to get a "thank you" and "goodbye" when you leave, a simple yet small token of appreciation that you will remember.
